V.E.R.NE.Vocational Education for European Routes Networks |
Background and objectives
The partnership of this project, coming from 9 European countries, aims to develop and present a specialised education and training initiative within the “European Routes Network”, a web of cultural and historical itineraries intersecting all regions of Europe. The main focus is on the production and service industry of partner countries and on strategies of how to improve inadequate skills and knowledge of actors involved. V.E.R.NE. promotes the creation of new job opportunities (employment and self-employment) and supports learning and exchange networks (e.g. between older and young learners) in order to increase cultural awareness and economic growth within disadvantaged regions.
Activities and outcomes
The partnership’s development work is based upon analysis and identification of specific skills upgrade and qualification needs for respective sectors (e.g. service skills, arts and craft skills).
Successful implementation is supported by involving stakeholders, such as development agencies, trade associations, vocational and educational institutions as well as local and regional public bodies.
The final outcome of V.E.R.NE. will be a vocational education and training model including specialised VET courses provided to various clients in each partner country.
