| Face to FacePotential and Limits of Interactive Telelearning Systems Combined with Videoconferencing |
This project has been funded by the programme SOCRATES-MINERVA of the European Union. The project was designed to evaluate the range of application and the use of desktop video-conferencing equipment to deliver and to support tele-training in professional and social skills. It has investigated the potentials and the limits of such systems in five various countries for various training contents and target groups.
Project aims
- To evaluate the availability, the characteristics and the potential of desktop video conferencing for interactive telelearning systems.
- To define and agree upon a setting of hardware and software which will serve as basis for subsequent development steps.
- To develop pedagogical background and guidelines for the implementation and use of video conferencing
- To test, for the various target groups and the different social and cultural settings, the extent to which the use of telelearning and videoconferencing could replace traditional methods
- To develop and validate, based on the above mentioned experiences, curricula concepts for multimedia courseware
- To disseminate the project outcomes through a variety of methods (which are described later in this chapter)
