YOUNG is designed to create and try out an innovative integrated formula for combating underage employment and school truancy. The social phenomenon that we have observed in the south of Italy - although this is common to other areas of Europe - is that many adolescent leave school (despite its being compulsory) to work in the black economy, in other words unprotected by the rights that the law assures to workers. This type of work is often associated with criminal activities. The project designs a modell to help youth workers in France, the UK, Italy, Austria und Rumania in dealing with young people in this situation. | |||||||||
