DIDO

Developing Innovative Didactics for Workplace Training

While it is widely accepted that workplaces provide strong learning environments, offering real on-the-job experience that makes it easier for some learners to acquire essential hard and soft skills, the quality of workplace learning can be somewhat unpredictable especially in less regulated environments.

In many organisations, small as well as large, those responsible for workplace learning fall into one of the following categories: i) they have had no formal training in pedagogy or didactics; ii) they have only completed training at a basic level; iii) they base their learner support model on their own learning experiences.

In response to the current didactic deficit the DIDO project develops a suite of continuous professional development resources that address the didactic needs of professionals, who work in a range of diverse workplace learning environments, helping them to ensure that quality learning experiences are available to all learners.
