ALZ-Q
ALZ-Q – Training facilitators in small local heritage institutions to make them safe places for adults with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease |
In an independent society, the growing number of Europeans receiving Alzheimer’s diagnoses is finding themselves alone more and more. Through the ALZ-Q initiative, we hope to provide adult educators and guides working in small local museums and libraries with the necessary training to support those who have recently received a diagnosis of the illness. This will be accomplished by utilising the expertise and experience that staff members of professional educational institutions have gained via adult training.
We want to conduct studies on the skills of trainers and facilitators as well as the traits of Alzheimer’s patients. Additionally, we will create a modular training programme for facilitators that can be tailored to the needs of the local context. By the end of our project, a toolbox of the findings will be available on our digital portal.
