Disruptive change agents: the new breed of leaders in Europe
The Europe 2020 Competitiveness Report (Edition 2014) segments the European state economies to “innovation rich” and “innovation poor”. Innovation is seen as the stepping stone to regain the competitiveness of our economy. Europe is in great need of innovation-driven leadership models and a new breed of leaders is required to provide and deploy innovative actions to meet challenges, while inspiring others to embrace them. Such “Disruptive Change Agents” (DCA) will carry a different profile than today’s leadership model by exhibiting technical competency and functional expertise, natural entrepreneurial abilities, innovation, inspiration, creativity and process management.
The transnational consortium (Austria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom) will focus on:
- A profile definition of this new breed of leaders.
- The development of a new methodology to be applied at primary education level for an effective development of leadership talent at an early stage.
- The preparation of a training curriculum and didactic material for teachers training in applying the developed methodology.
