L-Green - “Learning in Green”
“L-Green” is an innovative project which addresses low-level educated and low-skilled adults. It aims at developing a new didactic approach combining the acquisition of key competences with a thematic focus on the environment and sustainable development. Preparatory research has shown that young adults have great interest in environmental subjects and are eager to engage in respective concerns. “L-Green” helps teachers and trainers to integrate this new thematic focus in their education activities and improve pedagogic methods.
The main objectives of the project are:
- Improving the access to continuing education for low-level educated adults
- Promoting ecology-related action
- Providing access to new occupational fields in this sector
The thematic focus on the environment and on sustainable development can strengthen the learning motivation of the target group, as this field usually isn’t associated with negative school experience. It is a field which enables the acquisition of basic social competences such as compliance with rules, active citizenship, participation and responsibility, community affiliation, etc.
Once the target group have developed their motivation to learn, there are further educational paths accessible to them, which provide new occupational possibilities in the fields of technical installation and maintenance (photovoltaic, solar heat), production (wind, photovoltaic) as well as waste management.
The final products of the project will include a handbook and a toolbox.
