Alternative language learning techniques for male learners acitive in the tourism sector |
Rural areas do not have as many options when it comes to language learning as could be found in urban areas, but as a means to enhance the individual’s skills, for economic growth, increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and creating sustainable economies it can be a driving force. In addition, men tend to have very different interests and motivation factors, which do not seem to be covered by contemporary textbooks and methodologies applied in language learning.
Alternative tourism also offers rural areas a chance to prosper resulting, on one hand from efforts to improve the economy there, as well as a changes in the tourist’s needs for alternative activities during holidays.
The MenTalk project intends to develop and promote outputs which address all the aforementioned issues.
